Smart Strip Installation Instructions
The blue "control" outlet on the power strip switches all white "normal" outlets off whenever the device plugged into the blue outlet is in standby-mode or turned off. There are also red "constant hot" outlets that remain powered all the time.
1. Plug everything into the Smart Strip
- Plug your computer / laptop into the blue "control" outlet
- Plug your peripherals (monitor, speakers, lamp, printer, etc.) into the white "normal" outlets
- Plug any devices that you want never to be powered down into the red "constant hot" outlets
2. Verify your Smart Strip is working properly
- Put your computer / laptop on standby or sleep. Doing so should cause the "Switched Outlets" light on the Smart Strip to turn off (implying that all the devices plugged into the white "normal" outlets have turned off along with your computer / laptop, or your device plugged into the blue "control" outlet). Any devices plugged into the red "constant hot" outlets should remain powered.
- Turn your computer / laptop on. Doing so should cause the "Switched Outlets" light on the Smart Strip to turn on (implying that all the devices plugged into the white "normal" outlets have turned on along with your computer / laptop, or your device plugged into the blue "control" outlet).
